We’re an agro-tourism resort in the Okavango, Botswana, situated 2km from the Buffalo Fence and 20km from Maun.
Botswana is one of Africa’s most culturally and environmentally rich countries. It’s landlocked with no border closer than 500 kilometers to an ocean. Botswana’s light soils have limited water-holding capacity, 5% of the land arable with 1% cultivated, arid to semi-arid climate with temperatures averaging +40C in the summer and an incredible annual rainfall of 416mm.
This little piece of heaven is where we decided to start farming.
In Maun and the Okavango Delta tourism is important to our livelihoods. It’s an intricate business ecosystem that depends heavily on local and international tourism.
Our Agro-Tourism classification allows us to use up to 50% of our plot for tourism purposes. We are currently waiting on the completion of our EMP (Environmental Management Plan), which is a requirement before lodge construction may take place. The lodge consists of a main building with a kitchen, lounge, dining area and bar. There are five tree houses and six top quality double rooms, a pool bar and quite possibly the only sauna on the Boro River. Watch this space!
We also have a small guest Marina and can accommodate nine commercial pleasure craft at any one time.
